Happy Easter!

Well, the Spring Term seems to have flown by.

This last week of term has been a really good one.

I had lots of positive feedback following the parent/teacher sessions on Monday.

On Tuesday I was lucky enough to accompany Acorn Class on their trip to York Railway Museum. If you have not yet seen the photos on Acorns Class Story then please give yourself a treat and have a look – we had a simply lovely day!

Yesterday we brought back a very old Heptonstall School tradition – The Easter Bonnet Parade! There were so many lovely entries for the School Newspaper competition. The children paraded around the hall to the sweet tones of July Garland and Fred Astaire singing “Easter Parade”. Four winners were chosen by the School Newspaper editing team but every child received a prize for taking part. You can see the parade on Miss Robertshaws post below.

Attached to this Dojo is a termly Family of Learning Trust Newsletter put together by the CEO of the Trust, Mrs S. Hussain. It details various cross-Trust events that have happened during this last term and has a focus on each school too.

The summer term starts on Monday 8th April. A reminder that at the start of May we have a long weekend (which also incorporates the Bank Holiday) where we finish after school on Thursday May 2nd and come back on Wednesday 8th May.

The summer term is always one to look forward to.

Last year you will recall that we did a whole school visit to Blackpool Zoo. I am pleased to say that this year (and partially funded by the PFA) we are going to do another whole school visit (to somewhere different!). I will keep the surprise of where it is going to be to until after the Easter holiday but I will tell you that it is going to be on Thursday 6th June.

Another date for your diary is our Sports afternoon which we plan to do on Tuesday 18th June.

Our Oak class have their residential to Cefn Lea in Wales to look forward to at the end of June and there of course is the whole school show with performances the penultimate week of term (Afternoon performance on Tuesday 9th July and evening performance on Wednesday 10th July).

Again I will keep the secret of what it is going to be this year just for now!

There are some more cross – trust events planned for the children (and staff) and of course our Year 6 will have their usual leaver’s week fun activities in the last week of term.

I have a feeling that – for many reasons – April to July is going to absolutely fly by.

My very best wishes to you and your families for Easter.
