What we’ve been learning so far this year!
In French, we played pairs to recap the names of places you find in a town.
Then we wrote sentences, in French, saying where we go in a town and what we do there.

Space… the final frontier!
This term for Topic our destination has been Space! The children have worked really hard and produced an amazing Topic Wall! Well done everyone!
In Music the unit was called 'Solar system' and linked really well with our topic work. We have used instruments to recreate a music pattern inspired by stars.
In PE we have been learning about the different type of sports that make up Athletics.
We have also been hard at work preparing for SAT’s and looking forward to the announcement of this years School Musical!
Autumn 2 2022-23
In English we wrote diary entries and pieces of narrative writing based on the book 'Leo and the Gorgon's curse'. We also wrote instructions about the Greek clay pots we made in Art.
Our History has been all about Ancient Greece - we made timelines, compared the Ancient and Modern Olympics, research Greek gods and retold the Trojan War as a cartoon strip.
In Art we sketched Greek pots and then designed our own using typical Greek designs then we made them out of clay using the coil pot method.
In Science we learned about the changes that happen to humans over time. We analysed lots of data about child growth and used it to draw graphs.
In PE we learned some Greek dances - we had a lot of fun.
It’s all Greek to me!
In English we have been using a video clip called The Ridge to write settings descriptions and newspaper reports and we’re going to be researching the famous mountaineer Sir Edmund Hilary and writing a biography all about him.
So far we have focused on Geography and have found out all about the water cycle, located rivers and mountains range around the world, identified key features of rivers, mountains and coasts, found out how different types of mountains are formed and discussed the impact of tourism on a mountain environment.
In DT we are going to be looking at Isambard Kingdom Brunel and researching and designing bridges.
IN PE we have been learning how to play tag rugby – we’re having lots of fun.
